Fuel Hose Reducer? 12mm to 8mm
« on: 19 February 2011, 21:33 »
Hi,

I am currently in the process of removing a shoddy small inline filter from between my fuel tank and my inline pump. (DX engine in a T25 camper)

The nipple coming from the fuel tank is 8mm I believe but the inlet for the pump is 12mm I think.

Just wondered what the easiest option is to fit a straight fuel line from tank to pump. Would this do the trick?

Or

Any advice greatly appreciated thanks

first one says air only, I'd go for the second one.

Neither are really suitable but the second one would be ok if the fuel pipes are metal and have lips to stop the reducer from comming off. The first one is an air fitting so probably not suitable for fuel and from your description of the job you are doing, it wont work anyway (the end away from the photo goes into a second similar fitting that has a bore of 12mm).

Could you not use a 8mm and 12mm lipped sockets for the second one. But maybe it's too short, ie only half the socket would go in rather than the whole lot.
