First trackday of the season
« on: 18 February 2011, 21:55 »
Got the Golf out of hibernation last weekend. It fired up no problem which was nice. It all looked and seemed ok so it is on its first trackday outing next Friday.

Fingers crossed for some dry weather and fun.

Where you going bud? Also you booked up with the 928 lot on 31st May? I'm going.

I'm hoping to get mine up and running this weekend. It's lain dormant in the carpark since October, think I'm gonna have my work cut out!

We're off to Abingdon for an airfield day. Yes I'm booked up with the 928 boys for 31st May. Might take the 928 for the day if the wife decides not to come.

Mine sat there since the last trackday at the end November until last weekend. Put the battery back in and all seemed fine. Quick service and check over and ready to go again. Hope yours is just as easy.

Was meant to do some bits on it over xmas but it was too cold to be outside.

Abingdon went well. Weather was good until after lunch when it started to rain. The semi bald tyres didn't keep the car on the track very well in the wet. Put on some wheels with Uniroyal Rainsport 2's and they seemed very impressive.

Managed to pick up a cone round a chicane and that made us laugh a lot as we dragged that round a third of the track

Ripped off one of the "vauxhall" brake cooling ducts on an excursion across the grass in the wet on the bald tyres but it just needs cable tying back on to the wishbone
