Spare wiper grommet removal?
« on: 18 February 2011, 20:02 »
Hi. I want to treat some rust around the spare wiper grommet of my mk2. How on earth do I get the grommet off? Cheers.

From underneath. Remove the scuttle plastic to expose the wiper motor etc. The plug part from the top goes into part of the motor. If you can get your finger in from underneath you can literally poke it back out. It sits inside a thick grommet which goes into the panel 1st. You'll see this when the plugs removed.

As above, and plenty of WD40, try and do it all from the underside, to avoid ripping of the cap... all will become clear
