leather seats
« on: 05 March 2005, 20:54 »
I have just bought a leather interior for my mk2 16v.  The car is blue with tan seats.  I have a couple of questions.

The leather needs a good clean and condition to bring it back up.  HAs anyone got any recomendations as to what to use to do this.

Also im trying to keep my standard, bbs ra's etc as it mint.  The interior fitted now is a rainbow trim which is also mint with a little bit of wear.  The leather is genuine VAG.

Should i sell the old seats or keep them??

I i do sell them what are they worth.

Its a three door with two fronts solid rear bench and all door cards but with no rear headrersts.

Cheers Tim

Cheers there products look really good.

What do you recon a rainbow interior is worth, little bit of wear on drivers bolster (its gone bobble like clother do ) but not ripped or worn through.  rest is mint.

^^^ i'd say don't wank on your seats, might get arrested!

anything with decent oils and lanolin will bring it back, saddle soap is good and cheap from a horsey shop.

Got the seats today they are nice but not quite jizz worthy.  Several people have said saddle soap works might have to nick some of my g friends.

They just need a clean really as they are in really good condition i was shocked at under three hundred.

was it seats & doorcards & carpet?

also, what colour is the dash, steering wheel, gearstick. would it not look a bit odd if everything else is black?

I got front seats 60/40 rear bench and all 4 door card.  Its in the car now and look fine against the black.  Dash door handles etc.

Dove soap bought it up a treat and then some leather conditioner.
