Speaker Grills/Covers

Both my left and right speaker grills for the front speakers have been kicked and cracked (not by myself :() largely due to the fact that they are exactly where your foot goes when trying to get out the door when your in a narrow parking space!  :angry:

Ive seen some replica ones on flea-bay but id rather go for something genuine to replace them. Now this might be really anal, but my right one has a small black rectangle with the vw logo in it near the bottom of the grill (the logo is centered) and the left one has the same rectangle but with the vw logo left aligned and followed by 4 letters (AKTV I think) I have found a pair of new ones like the left http://www.eurowagens.com/en/vw/golf-2-jetta-2/interior/original-speaker-grilles-vw-golf-jetta-mk2.html which seem genuine and look alright as far as im concerned but I was wondering why the small difference between my left and right....is one more original than the other?

Also if anyone has a pair of these in decent condition that they would want to flog let me know.

Anythoughts on the above/pictured below ones from Eurowagens?

I 'think' aktiv made the speakers for VW, therefore the logo. If you look carefully you might even have the VW part number stamped in it.

They're exactly what I would buy if it wasn't for my Audioscape pods.

aktiv is the self-powered speaker system fitted to higher end MK2s. iirc the std grilles were deleted and you could only get the aktiv ones, or the other way round. vw have just dropped the other type of grille now, but if you give em a call they may be able to chase down some old stock for you

Well before going to buy the above I thought id give VW a call and see if they have either the above or the same but without the AKTIV logo in stock. The part number I had for MK2 Golf Speaker Grilles was - 191 867 149 LN8

Apparently the part number above has been dis-continued and he couldn't find any other MK2 grilles on the system.

I then went back to eurowagens and it was only then I noticed no 'add to basket' button on that page just a make a request about this item link...which I did, also discontinued :-(

Ive found replica ones on fleabay but they are without either the VW or AKTIV logo and id really rather go genuine, but I can't find any of these anywhere  :cry:

Does anyone have any other part numbers than the above for speaker grilles (as I know sometimes things can be found under different names etc), or know of anywhere selling genuine speaker grilles OR anyone have any to sell.

anyone with a response which leads to me sorting a pair will be god in my eyes forever  :tongue:
