I've got a single stone chip at the front of my bonnet thats down to the primer so greyish white, an annoying blemish on what is otherwise a fairly decent finish!

I bought a touch-up kit from the stealers which consists of two small bottles, one base coat (colour) and one clearcoat.
Rather than just blob it in the chip i was thinking of trying to do it properly,
I was thinking:
1)Clean out chip
2)Using a cocktail stick, put a small amount of colour in the chip
3)Dry paint with heat gun/hair dryer
4)Using a cocktail stick, put a small amount of clear coat in the chip
5)Dry top coat with heat gun/hair dryer
6)Flat with 3000 wet/dry paper
7)Polish area with compound
8)Seal area with JS109
9)Apply Wax
Do we think 3000 paper is the right paper for the job and can someone recommend a compound suitable, preferably a sample pack as i won't need much? all to be used by hand.

Any advice greatly appreciated.
