Noise On Full Lock

Hi all

Just after some help if at all possible. Havent really searched this as i am not 100% sure what to search for, but i have just put 17" wheels on my car and slammed the coilers to the limit. Looks very good, or i think so anyway, but when on full lock im a getting a rubbing/grinding type noise. It is fine when driving, just on full lock. I have checked the adjuster rings which arent touching (although would rub all the time if the case), but am unsure what else it could be.

I wont have time to check until the weekend so was hoping someone could throw some suggestions in there. Could it be the ARB rubbing on full lock? I have read they can rub on extreme lowering but i wasnt sure if it would do it all the time if it was rubbing.

driveshaft on arb unless u have the adjustable droplinks , tyre rubbing on arches

Yep its your anti roll bar catching the drive shaft happens if you go lower than 45mm

Thought it could be, just hoping it wasnt! So this doesnt happen when driving then? Only when on full lock?

depends how low, adjustable droplinks on ebay only £30 and easy to fit

I think i may have to invest in some then.

Anyone think it will be causing major damage if it only rubs on full lock?

Right i have had a quick look tonight and can see there is rubbing on the driveshaft so i assume it is on the ARB, weird thing is that when the car is stationary it looks like there is loads of space, any reason for that???

I have read that on coilovers people remove the ARB to overcome this as the coilovers are stiff enough to not need an ARB. Anyone have any experience with this? I was thinking about doing it as my car isnt exactly fast, i dont slam it round corners and dont use it for the track!

Any info appreciated!

just get some adjustable droplinks. easier and quicker than taking the arb out and safer

Easier and better as steve said to fit adjustable droplinks

How do the shorter droplinks work? Surely that moves the ARB closer to the driveshaft?
