Really impressed with performance.
« on: 14 February 2011, 15:23 »
I've just had a bit of an a-road blat behind a '10 plate Focus ST.  I was massively impressed.

My car is a standard 16v ABF engine that has been regularly maintained with 107,500 miles on the clock.

The ST was pulling away from me on the straights on acceleration, but once it got to 55mph it stopped pulling away and I made up the gap on the corners, with the Golf out-cornering the ST.

The ST wasn't holding back either.  Massively impressed!!!

I did consider that, but he was giving it some.  You could tell by the way he was late braking, accelerating hard and such, and the speeds he was going into the corners.

A better driver would have been able to go faster, but the same could be said about me and my car.  Was mighty fun though.

I'm not saying that my Golf is a better car than the Focus, just on this particular occasion I kept up

Was it orange? I doubt it was. Orange ones are faster than mk2s so it would deffo be faster than a mk3. :lipsrsealed:

Not low enough mk5
Not on the road enough mk3

You must have been a much better driver if you could keep up with him in a slower car :lipsrsealed:
