K Jet DX - Fuel Pump
« on: 12 February 2011, 18:36 »
Hi all,

I have a DX engine in a T25 camper and have a few questions about the fuel pump.

Now the previous owner setup my van with NO pickup pump, main pump and accumulator under body and fuel filter in engine bay by metering head. The current one looks like this:

I have a few spares I bought but these pumps come in large housing holding the accumulator and filter:

The pump removed looks like this:

My question is if my fitted pump failed, would these be any good? They look completely different but I wondered it they can just be fitted with a shroud and the fuel will come in like my fitted one?

Thanks in advance for any advice

aye mk2. you need to fit pump complete with the plastic housing, just a case of is there enough room. the plastic housing acts as a fuel swirl pot, just need an in-tank pump keeping the plastic reservoir topped up with fuel. the bottom nipple on the back of the plastic housing is the feed from the tank, the 2 nipples on top are return from engine bay and return to tank

oh and the metal cylinder on the left side is the filter, the one on the right is the accumulator. you can take the mk2 filter off and use the bay one if you like, do whatever is easiest. you need a fuel accumulator though, use the mk2 if one isnt fitted now or keep the van one iffitted and its easier
