Cleaning windscreen
« on: 10 February 2011, 10:41 »
I've noticed a couple of marks on the inside of my windscreen which need cleaning but after the trouble I had in my old car keeping it smear free I'm holding off.

Anyone got any tips on the best way to clean the glass and avoid any smears - especially the ones that only appear when driving into low sun

I find that just misting it up a bit with breath and then using a clean dry microfiber works well, but get yourself in the middle as much as possible so that you can wipe side to side, so that you dont get a dodgy join in the middle.

I`ve tried Windowlean and Autoglym Fast Glass and still ended up with streaks...

3M window cleaner works for me.
I have to hide it from the wife though.

Does anyone still have the suction cup marks (from the production line) and managed to clear them? Okay, I only see them when the screen's a bit misted up, but they bug me!

That's more like it.
Carbon neutral too, you can eat the spud and wipe your arse on the newspaper afterwards!!!

You go in the detailing section and it's like a willy waving comp of who's got the best and most expensive gear to do a basically very simple job. We live in the UK not California. It's cold most of the year and wet all of the year, and the light is crap. What's the point in having 2 millions quid's worth of cleaning gear when 5 mins later your car is covered in road debris and seagull sh!te?!!!

The spud it is for me.

Yep!!! I've still got the suction marks. I can't have cleaned the glass very well, despite using proper AG glass polish on it a couple of times. I have to say it's bloody disgraceful at the moment, what with all the condensation I've been TRYING to wipe off!

Oh, dear.
We talked about this on the forum and in PMs. Just recognise you are a Sweaty Betty.
Were you not in the First Class longe just now?

Have you not taken the car to your dealership to sort this annoying problem? I am sure they will provide a solution, I hope.
