Hi I managed to pick up a brand new mk1 gti steering wheel would it be a direct swap for a late mk1 gti convertible steering wheel, I have checked on etka and the relevant part numbers appear to be the same.

a late mk1 cab has the same splines as the mk2. The mk1 tintop has a different sized spline from what I remember. So I dont think it will swap across without some sort of shim.

the early mk 2's had the same size spline as mk1's i think. they definately changed around the whole 90 spec time so its probable that they could be swapped. i guess the easiest way(other than taking your wheel off and measuring both) is to see what aftermarket boss kits fit both mk1 and mk1 cab.............
