The bore of the VR6/16v pipe is 55mm, 8v is 50mm.

Nope they will not on a 8v due to the difference in engine weight, rears may be ok.

Exhaust will fit with a sleeve

are they o.e or lowered springs? If lowered it's hit and miss if there correct rates etc (many sell just 1 set for all models!)

16v/vr6 exhaust will fit to the 8v cat, downpipe is pretty much the same on 8v/16v and the cat output diameter is the same 55mm diameter for 8v,16v and vr6. the 8v front pipe is 55mm at the front, then it nartrows down to 50mm at the back. 16v/vr6 is 55mm all the way back

however, i think there is a difference in cat length depending on the age of the car, this issue seems to crop up now & again but I cant say exactly what age the change happened.  all i know is my miltek mk3 cat bypass was shorter than another make one my mate bought, but the miltek one came with a short length of pipe to make up the difference
