Only thing with the civic is its not easy to get big power without spending silly money -unlike all the turbo cars, a remap and its easily faster than the civic as my mate found out the embarasing way..

He had one brand new and ended up throwing  A LOT of money at it and had a turbo conversion done, it was fast but still lost loads of money on it

Id get a new S3 or focus RS if i was to get a new car, as much as i like civics, they are not quite wild enough for me to go new skool

Well how about an MK5 GTI then? I've driven Octavia RS's that had the same engine and they were a blast.

Due to recent developments (1. the MK3 keeps breaking, 2. got a considerable raise) I'm thinking of a Fiesta ST. Not certainly the hottest of hatches, but ought to be fun to drive as well as pretty decent looking and quite cheap to run (will only be a weekend toy).

Only time i ever give it is if there is something above my category giving it the beans! Bims with dirty smelly hairy young drivers who think they have it..
Have to show up these fools, even though my car is slower than a micra.
Other than that drop it to 5th and watch the MPG rise  :smug:

On another note, whats it like in your areas if you have say a red light rag with someone, Is there a mutual flash of the hazards/lights after or are they generally Ar5es?

Usually some kind of flash of hazards/lights

I must admit, I can't help myself most times. I usually start it :D

I will always stay german, though it would be nice to drive a Type R, there are so many more cars out there I would rather have!

French? :(

I think if you want to balance style, class and performance then German cars are the way forward.

If you want a shouty, beautiful performance car, then Italy is the place to look.

If you want something performance and technology orientated then Japan.

If you want cheap thrills, I think France is a good place.

If you want cheap scrap, I think France is a good place.

Fixed that for you

Although my area there's no respect for decent / nice cars, if it's not your scene you don't get along, pretty much it :D the chavs with dubs are even worse, they just get laughed at by everyone else and by the local chavs they lick their arse, so funny because they don't have a clue about the dub scene.

I think France for cheap thrills is fair though.

Saxo VTS, 106 GTI, 205 GTI, Renault 5 (although now all rusted, crashed or blown up ).

Think you missed the point, lol. If we are talking new Focus RS or S3 money then of course i wouldnt have a Type R, the new one is rubbish.

Here we are talking the reasonable priced hot hatchs, eg around the 8k mark.
