I've got the chipmunks somewhere around the steering wheel cowl, from the front passenger door (when it's cold), even from the drivers sun visor bracket (when it's down)!

You'd think, that after so many years in production and the testing and development involved in such a big volume car it just wouldn't be an issue...

The testing and development goes out of the window once the accountants come in to sign projects off. Cheap, cheap, cheap........

I had the sunvisor one easy fixed. Its the metal clip in the bracket were it clips in next to the interior mirror. If you remove this clip (single screw) and rebend the clip so its tighter fitting and refit it stops it. Drove me crazy for ages that one.

Update:

Just picked up my car from VW after telling me they have fixed the problem... and guess what.... they have!!!

They even told me that the passenger door was making a noise too and they fixed that also!! LOL, I didn't even know there were any noise coming from that door! I am well impressed

Apparently the door card had worked loose so they replaced it, refitted and padded it out and repacked the loom and hey presto - no more noises. Just to make sure I drove home along one of the bumpiest roads I know of in my area and not a creak or groan from the door. Only time will tell but for now my problem is resolved with much satisfaction.
So did they give you a complete new door panel or just refit it?
May i ask how old your car is?
Thanks.

That's exactly where it's coming from! I hadn't looked closely but had assumed the 'clip' was a roller bearing mounted in the plastic housing. So I just bend it so it sticks out a little more, to be firmer against the 'rod' of the visor?... I'll have a bash Saturday

 Thanks, Snoopy

What they told me was, "they fitted a new door card" - whatever that is?? Is that their term for a door panel? The actual door trim (panel) looks like the same one to me but I couldn't say for sure as it was spotless to begin with. I did see the workcard which stated, "r/f/p/ dc" which they told me stood for, replaced/fitted/padded door card.

Car is coming up to 2 yrs old this April and it's been pretty trouble free so far (fingers crossed)

DDG:
Single long philips headed screw to remove it. The clips in two parts the plastic surround and the metal spring clip. As you said just bend it so its a bit tighter onto the visor and it stops rattling. I hated it in the summer when mine did it. You have PM that may help you.

Door card i would think is a complete newdoor trim panel, amazed they had one in to do this unless they ordered it in advance. Nice to know yours is two year old and they are fixing it like this, meens they should fix mine the same as mines nearly a year old.

Thanks

My Dynaudio makes the driver's door trim buzz with bass. Bloody annoying. Pressure from my elbow stops it, so must just need some material tape between trim and metal frame somewhere.

About same place as original post.

Must book GTD in for the dealer to sort the trim out and my warty Xenon. ;)

Good morning.
Most Bi- Xenons have warts, it seems. Doc has one, Neilgti has two. At least you've got Xenons.
Turn the bass down on the head unit until you can get the buzz fixed.
The latter would drive me nuts.

I forgot: Have you eaten the partridge?
