gear linkage bushes question

right at this moment im changing my gear linkage bushes but i have a question in the diagram it shows a big red ball but mines a small oval shaped thing with groves in it does this mean mine has fell apart?

it should be a splined ball covered in a rubber type stuff

yours is sha66ed - missing the rubber ball. Your forward and back movement of gearstick must be sloppy as fcuk

i had this on my last mk2 - new bit makes a big difference

If that part is the as the one from GSF then you need to file the top of it a bit to get it to fit the arm.

all sorted and fitted now and WOW does it make a differance feels proper nice now

i changed the other 2 selector rods with white ends and a weighted mk3 shift rod - lovely now.

yeh i put a weighted shift rod on at the same time and it feel proper nice  :smiley:, i did 4get to do the pinch bolt up FT and got stuck in 3rd tho  :laugh:
