Well Ive ordered various 3m pads and some dj clay from waxamomo today. Need so source a paint suppliers first as the repairs I've done look pish and can't afford the £15 for 150ml from the stealer. Next month some jetseal 109 and some colli 476 and give it a full detail to hopefully get some love back.  :undecided: just the headlining to do then to complete the car really as I'm not forking out for new rims as I'm selling up for a rado in the spring. 2 post lift booked Monday afternoon to rub down and paint brake lines, and check nothing else needs doing. The guy is back from leave for the welding too so will get that booked in for the sill. All ready for Mot after that.

Had the car up today. 2 post lift was in use all day fitting a fiesta ST with some weitech lowering springs so I put it on the 4 post.  Rubbed down a chucked some hammerite on the brake pipes, and had a look at the sills. Drivers side was done at last MOT but had been crushed a little by tyre fitters.  A wooden block and a big hammer soon sorted that though! and the passenger side which was an advisory at the last MOT, wasnt that bad actually. No real rot, so managed to bang it down as well. All treated and undersealed and ready to roll! Was expecting that to need welding too so was chuffed. Was good having it up for a good look around too. Found a small PAS fluid leak, which I think I've sorted by just nipping up the bolt from the pipe to the pump, and a bit of weeping from the sump gasket. This was a new one from VW when I changed the lump, so was just a couple of loose bolts. Nipped them up too so hopefully thats sorted too. Chuffed with everything being ready for MOT, until I got it lowered down, and remembered the handbrake bracket needs a couple of spot welds!  No real bother there though, so that will be sorted pretty soon too. Here are a few pics (although sh!te ones) of the garage. None of the car in the air though as I forgot, sorry!

Nice Lotus under the cover, and a vento being broken next to it.

Every tool imaginable, even if not the best quality. Easy to get hold of new ones though!
Also found a paint supplier that will make up some tins to match my colour, so will be popping down there tomorrow. Hopefully my bits I ordered from waxamomo will arrive tomorrow as well. Once paint is sorted, on to the full detail.

Had my handbrake welded up today so MOT work is now complete!  Fingers crossed thats everything that needs doing as I'm proper skint now! Popped over to the tyre fitters too to move the weights over as they were rubbing on my caliper. .
Also sourced a paint supplier after being given the run around on that, so got 250g colour matched with this little lot as well.

Got my Rotary pads and clay through from waxamomo yesterday as well, so once the painting is sorted out (fingers crossed), time for a good detail before winter creeps in.

Gave it a small detail friday with wash, clay, polish, and dressings. Spent yesterday and today doing my previous botched paintwork, and this time round I'm really happy with the results. There are a few bumps where the filler has gone on, but only really noticable if your looking for it. Paint match was spot on, and all went according to plan bar one small bit that ran by the rear light. Will rub it down and go over it tomorrow if the weather holds, then flat it all back and polish it up Tuesday. Pics will follow once its all finished! Still got half the paint left, so may whip the mirror covers off and do them as well as they're covered in stone chips. But then theres the bonnet. And the grille. And the front bumper. :smiley:

Weather has not been good enough until today to cut back the paintwork. Plan was to wet sand with 2000, then 4000 grit, then get the rotary on it. Unfortunately the O/S/R brake started knocking like Feck today so that was the priority. Took the wheel off to find this

Dunno if you can make it out but there is cracking over half of where the disk part meets the hub part, and it was really warped. Phoned the suppliers who have just delivered me a new one. Whilst taking it off, I also noticed the carrier bolts were really loose, so that's the last time I pay a bunch of monkeys (even if it was only a tenner) to do any work for me! Can't get the Fecking inner race guide in now either as I don't have a big enough bolt.   gotta wait for the father in law to finish work and take me to halfrauds! Update later........

All finished now with a little help from my big coat and a miners lamp.  had to fork out ten and a hold quid for a impact wrench socket as that was the only one which was the right size. At least it's safe now though. Possibly get the paintwork sorted at the w.end in between knocking down a stud wall and terminating some electrics that the missus wants doing. Never bloody ending............
