Cheers fellas. Well she gets her licsence back in February so my argument will be that she can get the family car! Not sure about a Derv though, I gotta sort the funds out first..

Booked in for rear pads, discs, and bearings tomorrow morning. Just the little bit of welding that needs doing now for the MOT but the guy is away until next week, so will speak to him about it then.

Same mate. Drivers side got done at last MOT, but its a bit crushed again now. May get away with straightening it out myself and sealing it. Passanger side was an advisory last year and is worse now, and both jacking points are crushed a bit so may as well get them done whist I'm at it. Would probs cost me a couple of hundred quid from a garage, but luckily enough there is a guy at the car club in the dockyard that does auto welding. Considering they cant officially get paid for it, they said for that sort of work, to just bung em a few quid (around £40 should do it apparently). so I'm pretty chuffed as tax is also due at the end of the month, as well as MOT mid November.

Pretty much exactly whats gotta be done for mine as well lol! Luckily I know someone as well  although I am gonna do a bit of extra bodywork at the same time  I'm gonna roll my arches, smooth the sills and smooth the wings as well as relocate the side repeaters into the colour coded bumpers I have stashed away and paint up my smooth side mouldings in my stash at the same time!

If I knew someone who could do some paintwork I would be laughing! My attempts have let down the car as after this Mot, it will be mechanically perfect, with a really solid shell. Shame it just looks like a bit of a dog now! The fact that my shoddy repair work is on the the rear quarter panels so can't really replace them makes it worse!

New rear pads, discs, and bearings all fitted. Apparently they had a mare getting the carrier bolts off, so I felt guilty and gave them an extra fiver! . Cant complain, all in all including fitting cost me £100 which I think is pretty good. Also discovered they have a rotary in their store cupboard. Apparently been used once (and looks it), but the pads were never cleaned so has been sat in the box with a bottle of T-cut  ever since. Now gotta get me some pads and some decent products, and hopefully should have some shiny new bodywork to boot. The £18 for a years membership has paid for itself already imo.  :smug:
Oh and I noticed a ticking sound coming from the front N/S wheel earlier in the week. Whilst it was on the lift today, I spun it round, and instead of the weights on the inside lip, the chimps at ProTyre have put the flat weights on the rim, and its rubbing on the caliper. Choppers! Will take it round tomorrow afternoon and get em to sort it.
