Cheers guys, appreciate it.

Checked the cv joint bolts with a torque wrench and they were actually pretty good. Tightened em properly anyway, but decided to check the wheel bolts, and low and behold!  :embarassed: O/S/F was loose as feck! ha ha! No wonder the knocking and vibration was getting progressively worse! All done now and gonna enjoy driving it again but need a tyre. Pre MOT work begins next month - not due til november but get it sorted asap, and a bit of cosmetic work gets done too. Also need to sort the tracking out.

Got some gear oil today, and ordered a new gear linkage kit. Need a 17mm hex key now but will get that at the w.end when I change the oil. Its a bit tricky selecting gear at times, not too bad, but takes a second go to engage occasionally so need to do this really. Also ordered some wolfsburg number plate surrounds so they will be going on shortly after arriving. ABS sensor has come back on after clearing it, front left, so will get one ordered tomorrow as well. Fingers crossed that will be all mechanical problems dealt with, then time to concentrate on cosmetic matters.  Gonna give it a good clean and polish at the w.end, then provided the weather is ok, taking it up the Hoe for a few pics to post here and for Calender (never know )

Thanks again fellas, always good to know others like it too. Rear badge is also cream, might get a standard grill and do that badge cream too as the clips on my badgeless one have all snapped off on the top, and unsuccessfully tried plastic welding them back on. Gone off the colour of the wheels a bit as they are a bit darker than the bay, and just look dirty all the time.  :undecided:. Will do for now though as TT Comps are the plan for later in the year/beginning of next. Linkage Kit arrived today, next day delivery from tierod - awsome! Fitted already but still not great, so need to change the gear oil and see where I go from there. Steering rack UJ boot had a big hole in it too. Would have been much easier to replace when the lump was out, but hey ho, got one now so will do that soon as well. Hopefully number plate surrounds arrive tomorrow. Been speaking to a few guys in the workshops at work, and they said it was ok to go down and watch them do a bit of welding (not allowed to have a go myself, bloody H&S!) But might get myself some welding gear next month if I'm confident and have a go at the sills myself. Thats all for now, may have some pics at the w.end if weather is good.

Spent 6 hours washing, de-tarring, cutting, polishing and detailing the car today. In the process, missed the post and my number plate surrounds.  Will get em Monday though and stick em straight on. Really need to replace the gear oil as it keeps slipping out of second, and sometimes 4th gear. Did it in reverse as well. Just waiting on the 17mm hex to do it. With all the cleaning today, thought I would go out and take a few photos. Not very good as I am a sh!te photographer!

And on this one..............

I did this.........................

Well pissed off! Only been on the road for 6 days and I fecked em already! Never done it before so I'm not a happy bunny!!
Not to be deterred though.....................

Comments on my crap photos and misfortune welcome.

Got the plate surrounds on today, and painted up the sharkfins on the lower part of the front bumper.
Went down to see Dan at southwest dub shack and got some ball joints as the bonnet lifters I got months ago didnt come with any, but now dont have the clips! Gonna go back down tomorrow or wednesday though and get em, then get that done too.
Pic of the front end now

And a little beading shot from the weekends work.
