Yeah seen that and spoken to khare already. Nearly £300 for the shaft alone though so dont want to take the plunge and regret it. Will get it back on the road, and think about it at a later date though deffinately.

found one site selling for about £180 but that is for an unknown brand, with the lower duration lift - about 260/265 and Khare seems to think that something that low is not worth it.  :undecided:
He was running around 285 which is the top of the limit for fast road. Recommended filter, exhaust and Mapping mods before fitting these. Dont think his was mapped though so may be ok. They quickly kill your lambda too apparently.

Got this today

And inside is................................

Yay!!! really happy. Cant recommend madmanmart enough, great price fast delivery and kept me updated all the way. Cheers buddy!!!
Also picked up the rocker and sump gaskets and bolts, and breather seal from vw today.
Unfortunately I had a water leak on the service pipe to the house, got it fixed and tried to claim - but the water board have said they said my usage was high and I should have checked prior to finding out. Therefore I have to pay for all loss of water, which is 800 odd quid!  Absolutely fuming with them, and I'm off to see the Citizens Advice Bureaux over the next few days to seek guidance. Had to pay £250 off or risk a court order so absolutely skint for the rest of the month now. Will do the free bits so clean it all up and prep for painting over the coming weeks, but will have to wait for new clutch, flywheel, cambelt etc, and money to buy the paint til at least next month.
My Mum is an accountant for Brandon Tool Hire so staff discount, and should be able to hire an engine crane for 10% of the usual hire price . I can only have it for the day as long as its not already booked out but will sort that come the time.

Yeah looks quite good actually cheers! Will keep an eye on it anyway, but I am absolutely brassic so if it even goes for more than £20 its out of my price range at the minute!

Removed cam cover, sump, and alternator plus a couple of other little things today and gave them a good clean and rub down. Washer bottle looks brand new thanks to a bit of Gunk, a bottle brush, and a sink full of bleach and boiling water! Gonna get a new expansion bottle though as thats a lost cause. Getting there very slowly but will keep updated as and when. Cheers guys.

Another afternoon stripping everything out, and labelling everything up. Taken me ages but I dont wanna feck it up! Removing the centre pipe from the manifold was a fecking nightmare!!! had to grind the bolts off cos they were so coroded, but didnt want to come off with a cold chisel and a lump hammer!  Should have worn a jumper though cos now I have speckled burns all over my arms!  :embarassed:. Almost ready for the lump to come out now though, just gearbox and driveshafts off then book the engine crane to get her out.  Gonna try and flog some bits - ie; pipes, starter motor, alternator, sump, cam cover etc from the old engine to get some cash for some paint!  Not worth much but may be a start. Anyone want dibs on anything, give me a shout.
Oh and I will get some pics up soon.
