Looks good buddy! I actually really like your original grille with the red, think it looks awsome with the red around the vw badge mate. I had that thought as well, was gonna do the rear gti badge, bump strip gti badges, and the steering wheel but wasnt sure what everyone else would think so didnt say anything! Happy with the workhorse mate, proper bo is that!

Cheers Wayne!  Everyone has said the same about the lights, I thought they looked good! Oh well, definately gonna have to tint them now then. Right, picked up a parcel shelf and another glove box handle today, Cheers Dan7! At least the interior is looking a good now. Apart from those two things, the interior was pretty much mint when I got it. No fag burns or stains anywhere, and even the original mats which was surprising! Popped down to halfrauds as well this afternoon for some primer and some wet n dry in preperation for the rust stuff. Already got the top coat and lacquer so just waiting until the weather improves before attempting that!

Just ordered some tint spray. Had a look on here and read some reviews online, its called Savage rear light tint spray or something like that. Dmonday used it on his and the reviews are as good/bad as some of the more well known stuff. Cheers Dan! Will have a go when it arrives and update with pics when done. Also ordered some grille mesh for the lower bumper vents. Only a few quid so will see what it turns out like and get your feedback on that. (not sure if I should spray that up gloss black as well though). Also didn't mention that earlier on today whilst at halfrauds, I was gonna pick up some Mars Red for the bumper strips and do it properly.  Umm'd and ahh'd as I have used 6mm coach stripe adhesive tape stuff atm, and its come off a bit on the rear bumper. Prepped it all properly before I put it on as well, but the rest is'nt too bad. Got loads left so may just re-do it with that and see how long it lasts.

if you tint the top half of the rear lights they should look cool, as for the coach strip that should last for years, did you clean the bumper first, with thinners or something like that? did you fit the strip in the cold? try heating the bumper with hair dryer first

Yeah I gave the bumper a good wash and rinsed fresh. Then cleaned all with thinners. It was quite cold though, and it started to first come away a couple of days later. Dunno if it was just cos I handled the edge maybe. Will do it again when the weather permits.
