Binnacle glass/plastic
« on: 06 February 2011, 21:09 »
Can someone recommend a method to clean the plastic screens of the speedo and rev counters? I usually just use a microfibre to give them a wipe without any cleaning solution but have noticed in sunlight that i've got some hairline scratches! but i don't know if i've done them or if they were there from new? Either way i don't want to make it worse.
Cheers

I normally just give them a little hoover to get rid of the dust, and then maybe a quick wipe as i'm doing the windows if it needs it.

if you're vacuuming dash glass/plastics then kind of hover the brush over them... don't make contact as you can scratch them with a vacuum brush

either use an envy brush/detail brush or use a glass microfibre after you have vacuumed

Whatever you do, do not use a paper napkin that you get with your coffee at the services.

I did this and scratched the f**k out of the screen.  Live and learn gentlemen, live and learn.
