Hi guys, i have a problem with my mk3. My rear brakes arent working. if i crack the bleed nipple with my foot on the brakes no fluid comes out. the front brakes work fine. i have checked for blockages but there isnt any.
Any ideas?
thanks in advance

It could be that the nipples themselves are blocked. And the lack of rear brakes could be caliper pistons/sliders/pads sticking. Try stripping the lot down and seeing if anythings stuck.

ive stripped it all down and it all seems ok, i can get fluid out whilst running the abs bleeding sequence with vagcom but cannot get a drop out of it otherwise

ABS pump is f**ked?
Did you get any fault codes?

only fault code is speed sensor, When was using vcds i could only get fluid out when the pump wasnt running (when i had to depress the pedal) what are the symptoms of a dodgy pump? the front brakes work fine

If the fluid only comes out the rears with the pump not running, then that would suggest that is the problem..
You could also try disconnecting the rear pressure regulator(if fitted), to see if that's the problem.

It's quite hard to explain fully but ill try...
When normally driving the front brakes work but lock up under heavy braking .the rears do not work at all.if you open the rear bleedd nipples no fluid comes out regardless of whether the engine is running or not.however when connected up to vcds and running the ABS pump bleeding cycle you het fluid when the program says "depress pedal" in step 3. At any other point in the cycle you get nothing what so ever.
Hope this is clearer

is the abs ecu under the rear seat as these models have a seperate pressure regulator and if that is stuck it could cause similar issues (more so if the car is lowered!)
