998 vag 153 alarm /imobiliser problem
« on: 06 February 2011, 16:47 »
have an old  convertable with a faulty    "   black box   "

how do I   go about   " bye passing it  "   so I  can get the car to run  !!!

Have heard that  there are specific wires to cut  and  do something with  that will  let the car start  but  do away with the  " alarm / imobiliser "  bit

currently  the  flashers will not stop  and  there is  therefore no spark or working petrol pump

cheers

Rob

hi mate,
as far as i am aware you cant just chop the immob out,   you will need the ecu defeating so it doesnt require the immob, or easier would be put another immob box in, (as long as you have the corresponding chips for keys) and configure it with vagcom.. ive just changed mine, rubjohnny helped me alot with the process, it only takes 30secs to code.. :)  maybe  someone else will confirm my comment.. :)
