Mot today.......mishap on the way......grrrrr
« on: 02 March 2005, 09:54 »
My winter runabout has got its mot today, nothing really to worry about as I couldn't find anything obvious wrong with it.......until! Driving in this morning and the car still has a slight fuelling problem when on the choke and if you put your foot down too far before it's fully warmed-up it will backfire, I was going along the A11 doing about 75 put my foot down on a hill and there was a massive backfire  Damn thing blew a seam open on the exhaust

It's obviously failed now but I asked the garage to proceed with the mot too make sure there are no hidden horrors before I shell out for a new exhaust. Grrrr must fix that fuelling problem when I can afford a weber!

Hmmm think it may be beyond that free, the mot guy said he would try and block it up temporarily so they could still carry out the emissions test. Hopefully the exhaust will be the only thing wrong as it shouldn't be too expensive.

Well the mot guy managed to get enough paste into the exhaust to get it through the emissions test and the car passed its mot with absolutely nothing else required!!! Not bad for a 21year old car that cost ?120.

Hey boggle I live in a village called balsham about 10miles east of cambridge, whereabouts are you based then???
