Earth From Coil??
« on: 06 February 2011, 10:02 »
Quick question, for the the past week ive had an intermittent starting problem, thought i'd check it out today. when i was inspecting the earths the one from the coil going to the block snapped off very very easily, would this have been the problem or have i just created another fault??

Would deffo cause problems. Sort it out and see how you get on, you will then know if it was the problem!

Upgrade the cable too. Instead of the thin crap VW fitted get some decent earth/ground cable from a car hifi shop and make it up

nah wont really effect anything, worst thing ive seen it do is make the dash go a bit funny, but thats on older cars really. the coil earth is on the 3 pin plug so it wont make any difference to the spark if its there or not
