Just sold my Vr6
now I'm after a mk4 . Out of the v5, 1.8t or gti which is more fun has good mpg and better value

Youd be so disappointed going from a v6 to a v5! Like going from a nimble athlete to a retired russian shot-putter! The 1.8T can be epic with a map and a couple of bolt on bits. The v5 will be forever boring unless you buy a supercharger for twice the vehicles value and even then youll feel let down

You'd be looking for a 1.8T with a K03s turbo... the VR6s are quite a bit of power from standard... so the K03s would be the step up in terms of power... (this is only with a stage one map however).

I've seen a few turbo about for 1500 some for less. Is that good or is it stay away

1.8T AUQ if you can find one, but might be a stretch with your budget. 1.8T though over a V5 all day long...
