i have one too. good car for if you cant aford a turbo imo.

yes its 3 seconds faster 0-60 than the 2.0 iirc. about 8seconds ish i think it was.

125 bhp as you said.

mpg i get about 34 average if i drive more economical ive had it up to 39 but that was driving rediculusly economicaly. if i floor it gets down as youde expect.

not the fastest car but still a good car.


Wrong there. The 1.8T was over 8 seconds to 60 standard, the 1.8 20v non turbo was about 10 seconds.

sorry wrong button, was gonna press 9 but hit 8 by accident, exact figure is aroung 9.8. which i think is 2.5 seconds faster than the 2.0 but might be wrong.

To be fair it was only badged a GTI in the uk, the engine is fine stuffed in a mk2.

Still a poor engine at the end of the day for the germans usual engineering.
