1.8 20v non turbo.....

Who's got one? Are they any good? Found one at a good price and in good condition. Any known problems? Cheers.

Any idea on the engine code? Apparently they are 125 bhp!

I've got one on a 99 plate. Much better than the 2.0. They have all the normal mk4problems lol, such as door module fault. Othwise its a great car...mpg for me is 30 on a roads going to work (quite slowly) coming home if I put my foot down abit it drops to 24ish.

i have one too. good car for if you cant aford a turbo imo.

yes its 3 seconds faster 0-60 than the 2.0 iirc. about 8seconds ish i think it was.

125 bhp as you said.

mpg i get about 34 average if i drive more economical ive had it up to 39 but that was driving rediculusly economicaly. if i floor it gets down as youde expect.

not the fastest car but still a good car.

can easily keep up with my mates abarth stilo which is a 2.4 leter car and same with my mates fiesta st so not a bad car imo.

cant get much more out of the engine with out spending lots, remaps get about 10 bhp extra and any more than thats going to cost a hell of a lot.

but still pretty good cars imo. if you need anymore info pm me.

Better motor than the 2.0 but still a pretty slow and thirsty version of the golf imo, I had mine for 4 months and got rid of it as i couldnt justify getting 30-32mpg for such a poor performing car  :embarassed:
