Admiral seem to be the best on price in my experience, have been with them two years now around the £450.00 mark fully comp for me and the mrs. 30yrs old full NCB. I shop around every year but unfortunately insurance is one of those things that will continue to rise gradually.

If your car is standard, try getting a quote from Swiftcover online.
If it is modified try Chris Knott, Adrian Flux or Greenlight.

I'm with Swiftcover, was cheapest by miles.
This said i just last week got a quote from Greenlight and it was only £5 more. Got the quote as swiftcover don't cover modded cars and i'm looking at playing about shortly :p

i would just be careful with Swiftcover, i was with them on my mk5 gti im 23 with 6 years ncb and 0 points, i got 3 points on my license for an sp30 and declared it to the insurer soon as i got them and they told me they could no longer insure me! so i had to look elsewhere! got treated like a criminal and point blank refused to cover me.
