One Day Cover
« on: 03 February 2011, 21:34 »
i need a bit of advice, as ive metioned on here before, i own a second car, ive owned it about 4 years, spent about £15k on turning it into a purpose built show car, its been stuck in the garage since july 08 unfinished, but soon enough i want it out to do the shows (fast show, ptm show, usc, mod nats, trax) so thats only 5 weekends of the year

back in july 08, the car done its only show, streetlife show at nec, i had day insurance on it for the weekend

but now im led to believe that day insurance doesnt cover any modifications, which is a problem as the car is highly modified as its a show car! its not like i race it around the streets or go street racing, it will never go above 40mph

to add, i cant even remember the company i insured it with, all i remember was it was £25 per day

can anyone help, i really dont want it to be a trailor queen as it does need a good run after being sat for so long, unused and unloved

thanks

is it not worth looking at an annual policy and cancelling after 6 months if day insurance wont cover it propoerly? Looking like the only way to do it?

Hi, I know the post is a bit old but I have just got a one day quote for my mk3 GTI with plenty of mods delcared. £20 for the day. Bit pricey but better than forking out for an annual policy. Insurer is ecarinsurance.co.uk Online form including a drop down list for the mods. Pretty good in my opinon.
