mine was an 83 cabby, which was early enough to be the same as mk1 tintop without a roof :)

the later ones the wiring changed a fair bit along with a few other things, but mine was all mk1 tintop stylee, same tank, same exhaust etc

Yeah I didn't think there was any difference.... I know they got quite messy in the cabs in later years with up to another two rows of relays clipped on top of the fusebox!  Miss my first mk1 for its wiring, that was a piece of pi55 to work on being a 1300 series 1.

Well if the promised rain for the weekend doesn't come i'll be out there trying to get to the bottom of this!.. if not i'll bail, get the steering rack earth sorted and get the horns going as i don't think the other issue will bother Mr MOT man too much... (well I hope not)

One day i'd like to get to the bottom of my MFA issues, it's not worked since the enigne went back in with the old looms, thought new looms would bring it back to life but no, it's just a clock now.

sounds like its the stalk or the wiring from it rather than the engine looms :)

Yeah I thought that so a while back I bypassed the stalk and tried bridging the connections before the stalk with no luck.  The gubbins in the clocks might be fried.
