1st time here, can anyone help?
« on: 02 February 2011, 17:33 »
Hi everyone,

This is my first post, I've just found this forum after looking for a solution to a little problem I have with my MK4 Golf GT TDI.  I've owned the car for nearly a year and when I first purchased it the heater control panel lit up when the lights were on just like they should but after a few weeks they stopped working, I wasn't to concerned with it and thought I'd sort it when I got around to it, well finally after all this time (I can be lazy sometimes lol) I've replaced the bulb but the panel still does not light up although the bulb does work as I can see it lit up when the control switch is off.  Am I right in guessing the panel or at least the illumintaion prt of the panel is probbaly dead.

Secondly I noticed today after I changed the bulb, coincidence perhaps that the audible warning when you leave your lights on is no longer working although I know it was a few weeks back, could these issues be related and what could be causing the audible warning not to work andhow do I fix it.

Regards

Noel

ive got the same problem with the light on the heater panel, i havnt got round to it yet, but make sure the 2 contacts on the bulb are correct, theyre only small, mine sometimes works, and sometimes dont, could just be a dodgy contact if youve got a new bulb

just gave the panel a little tap to see if that would help and the heater panel appears to be working for now.  Just the one problem left at the moment.

Thanks everyone for your help, I'll have a go at replacing the module when I get a little time, hopefully this weekend or if not next weekend.

Thanks again for all your help
