mechanical tappet conversion...

Basically wondering if anyone has converted there mk2 from hydraulic tappets to mechanic items? Seen the kit offered and trying to get some imformation on it but strugging to find anything!
If anyone can help and tell me if they've had success with these items or to avoid them with a passion that would be great.

 I would be fitting them to a mk2 golf gti 2043cc ( Abf bottom end with bored out block on wossner pistons,pec rods and ported and polished kr cylinder running kent cams) Slowely gathering up the bits to build this beast... just wondered if the hydraulic items would be up to the strain...

You would be better to run mech followers however hydraulic followers may be ok but it depends on how hard you want to rev it.

The issue with hydraulic followers is that they can tend to pump up.

This is what i've been told... may have to save up a little more money then for the kit! Any recommendations on where to purchase and make to go for? They all seem to be around the £300 mark...

Which are? I can't find any listed on websites! I like to read up on everything before buying,even making a few phone calls to the seller... I'm what you call a jobs worth!

If you could find out what make yours are and where you purchased them danny_P that would be great! Its all very well ordering stuff from the net when you know what ya want but i've heard abit about the solid lifters but am yet to find anyone to tell me more...
