I paid I think £50 for powerflex polybushes about 3 months ago.

Doddle to fit poly ones in, but a b!tch to get old genuine ones out.

Lots of swearing and strength needed to do the job.

I'd go powerflex poly bushes, way easier to fit and you can do it without removing the beam and without a press.

My mechanic mate had to burn out the old bushes! So yea a pig of a job!

I don't agree with only buy genuine. A good brand like Febi will be the same as o.e (as there are a main supplier to vw)

and and always shop around, I buy from both the dealer and gsf as suprisingly sometimes the dealer is cheaper!

you probably need to be a member to view it mate

I used fire, a chisel, 2lb club hammer, a punch and a drill
1983 mk1, 2.0, TSR pack C head, Eaton M45 - work in progress

just finished replacing beam bushes! NEVER AGAIN one side fell out had to drill out other side.shells come out with a kango lol but worked..pulled new ones in with the wheels from my trolley jack and three sockets taped on and length of 13mm stud bar..what a bastard of a job..but got there in the end :smiley: will put some pictures of my makeshift tools up later...time for beer :smiley:
