Bit of advice please guys..

Well picked up my Seat leon Cupra diesel last Sunday and over the week ive done a lot of miles so today a day of what i thought would be pleasant cleaning how wrong was i 

I started off by covering the car in a nice thick layer of Snow foam and a tad of shampoo.. All good so far.. I rinsed this off and 2 bucket method shampoo'd the car.. As im doing this im getting more and more shocked at the condition of the paintwork 

Its very high mileage so i was expecting the amount of stone chips.. im going to have a go at sorting this soon if not get them resprayed.. bonnet.. wings.. bumper.. a-pillars..

But what i didnt expect was the amount of tar spots on the car and i mean HUNDREDS of the bloody things so i thought thats not the end of the world and got my valet-pro clay bar and born slippy and went about claying them off.. i gave up after 1 wing and 3/4 of a door it was taking bloody forever about an hour or so to do just them panels..

Also the car is going to need a machine polish to get the paintwork any where near its former glory as it suffers from a lot of swirl marks etc..

Im really skint at the moment but i need to get this paintwork done and protected with the amount of grit on the road at the moment..

- I need something that will pretty effortlessly remove these tar sports ( i there is such a thing )
- I also am thinking of getting like a £50-60 polisher i know they are not ideal but if i take my time will one of these surfice ??
- I also need some compounds one for a lightish cut and one for finishing.. if you can recommend please I dont do this for a living so it will have to last in its bottle for a while without going off..
- And obviously pads for the above compounds..


This is all on a tight budget so im not fussed if i cant get the best but something that works is better than nothing..

I got some of this stuff and it works really well on tar spots. You just spray it on then a tiny bit of effort with a cloth and off it comes.

yer was reading about this on detailing world.. how much should i buy i normally clean my car every week so never get that many tar spots ?? i would get 5L but is that too much ??

Just purchased 5L or TARDIS and 5L of G101..

WD40 works a treat mate! Just make sure and wash it again afterwards.

anyone help on whether cheap polisher are any good ?? and 2 compounds ??

Cheap Halfords polishers are a no no, but the Silverline Rotary is a great product but if you have never machine polished before I would normally recommend starting with a DA. You get change out of £50 for a Silverline, then you just need to add a pad or two and some polish

Cheers Chris yer was thinking of the Silverline polisher.. was not gona get no Halfords crap.. Can you recommend a lightish cut polish and a finish polish and 2 pads pleas  ??
