Do all the other functions work on the trip computer? If they do then the oil temp sensor isn't working, not sure which one does the trip computer. Any one?

Not sure off the top of my head, would need to look in the wiring diagram. I would suggest having a good look around the engine bay and see if you can find any wire hanging loose especially around the top of the oil filter as I believe its one of those two. Very common for them to break at the connector.

Thanks all for you reply's , i will look into this asap, but i recieved the following reply from someone else and this may help all of us

"Working?! Do you just get 2 dashes on the MFA when you scroll through it? Check the thin green (??) wire on top of the oil filter housing. It should be attached to a brass oil temperature sensor with a crimp connector. Usually they rust away, or the wire gets broken"

I recently had this prob.  The green wire is connected near the top of the block on the right hand side at the back.

If you speak nicely to 'Old boy' he may send you the picture of the oil temp sensor that he kindly sent to me.

Good luck

If the wire is broken, try earthing it to the block to see if it works.
