Bike Roof Rack for MK6 Golf

Hey Guys

I remember VW used to do a pneumatic/levered bike rack for the roof. I can't find it on their site at the moment or anything similar.

Does anyone else on the forum transport bikes and are you using VW or third party?

It's a bit of a minefield and I don't want to get something that is rubbish or risks damaging the car.

Any pointers gratefully received.

Have you thought about getting a removable tow bar and carrier?  For me there'd be less risk as your not lifting the bikes up onto the car with risk of slip/scratches or worse.

This is the option we are going for in the next 12 months as our boys get older and we go out on rides.

If you go into a VW dealership and ask for the accessory catalogue theres a few options in there, I have no idea why its not on the website at the moment. Probably as there putting the prices up.
My mate uses halfords bike rear hatch carrier on his TDI mk6.
