But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

Nothing over 110 but isle of wight roads are bit too bumpy to be doing that anyway

I can get more than that on the dual mate and its not bumpy, get a run up from the cinema and hope the lights stay green.

I aint got the balls to boot it from there incase the plod are at the lights or in the car park across the dual.
I  only got a 1.8 8v mk2 aswell, all the ones i ve had only seem to get that fast and and seem to run out of go.

Dad drove me about in a jag Xkr he had for a weekend a couple of years ago, didn't look at the speedo but I'd guess about 140-150 in-between me kacking my boxers with my eyeballs on either side of my skull each time he decided to change lanes. In short. Nice car haha

165mph in my MG ZR on gps 175mph on the back of my dads SP1
I think the gps may have been slightly wrong as the top speed is listed at 130mph on a zr160 :undecided:

Except it didnt have a 1.8 vvc in it

Had a Rover 220 Turbo lump
T28 Turbo
Forged Pistons
Remapped
Ported and Polished head
Front mount intercooler
Full 3 inch exhaust

Running 261 bhp 238ft/lb @ 13psi

You heard of AA Autosport?

90 and bouncing off the needle in my classic mini

142 in my Bro's VR6

145 in my mk3 valver

160 and was still pulling till boost hose popped off in 450bhp  MR2 turbo

1.4 cvh escort showed 120 on the clocks, had my foot floored for like 45 minutes on the way back from newquay - i made a detour to the track
1.3 swift - 115 on the dials
1.9d toledo 105 after many many attempts
2.0 rover 220 gti silver stopped looking after 135, didn't slow down though
2.0 rover 220 gti red 140 and was trying to keep it in a straight line - avonmouth bridge is NOT a good test track
1.6 civic d16 was scary enough at 125 - sod keeping pushing on
1.5 yaris t sport - went off the clock @ 135 and had 500 rpm before the redline, went 200 rpm into the red and wasn't on the limiter
1.8t mk4 golf - overtook a e46 m3 a touch over 140 on the speedo, dude looked quite confused as to what i was doing
1.8t passat - 120 so far...

naturally i'm lucky to have so many of my own private test tracks

Feels like i can take off down mili road cos its so bumpy, even when i ve done it on standard suspension. Did a lot of "testing" down forest road last year early in the mornings but then a bird hit my windscreen at 100 one morning lol
I actually ducked down inside the car.
