edit - Isnt top speed dictated by the gearbox though? As in the final drive will only be a certain speed, regardless of power? The top speed of a 220 turbo is 146mph

you correct final drive would have to be longer

Indicated via speedo, 162mph in a Mk2 Golf GTI 16v, but then it was an Original Turbo Technics conversion lol. Love that car!

the speedo on the 150 tdi golf said 135mph, plenty of road with me at the wheel . but the 22b subaru's speedo said 130mph on a bit of road i couldn't do 60 in, but me in the passenger side
