Temperature light

I have recently had a problem with my dash light flashing at me after 2 miles of driving. The thing is the gauge is fine and the fan cuts in.

Any ideas?

check coolant level, if ok bridge pins on level sensor. if problem solved youi need a new one. if its pre-90 level sensor unscrews, if post 90 need to change whole tank

No the level is fine and tried unplugging all the relivent sensor plugs,nothing happened still the same but if i turn the car off then on again its fine.

mine does this. Had new bottle and cap and various new sensors

even tried replacing part of the wiring and it still does it

not every time but usually after a bit of flogging.

Mine did this a couple of times and at first I thought it was due to me putting the key in the ignition and starting the car without waiting for the dash to do its flashy diagnostics and then starting it...

In the end I put in a new sensor... Never done it since..

dont just unplug the sensor, bridge the wires together as well. this will disable the level warning. leavign it unplugged will make the dash think coolant is low
