hi , i was down local srappers on the look out for another part when i saw two front seats out a gttdi and as i cant get just 2 front recaro's to match my rears i thought i would see (seemed very cheap) i got them home and cleaned them up but lack of knowledge i didnt check for any wiring (just read guide on removal saying about disconnecting the airbags) i went and checked and i cant see any wiring on bottom of the seats??? see pic

so is it the b in for these two front seats or isthere a way round? this might b a learning experience in stupidity for me lol

was planning to get these in asap but i dont want to take old velour ones out and b left with air bag light on that i would expect all golf front seats come with airbags???? and wiring needed

Just a thought, is it possible, using VAGCOM, to switch off the relevant airbag/s?

The light still stays on and you get a message saying they are turned off. I used a resistor in the conector going to the seats. Think it was a 4.7ohm.

Can you not just swap the covers and relevant foam support?

Thats odd as i have a 53plate gt tdi and it has airbags in the seats, thought it was standard. If i were you id do a web search for an exploded diagram of the seats and find out. Should have airbag written on the side of the seat i think. Not sure, if not ill take a head rest off you if your dumping them

lol yeah it a bit strange i checkedthe side of the seats no mention of airbags. it also strange that the srappers would cut the wiring off as that more work and less money.

would give u the head rests but since that guy who sold me the rear recaros gave me a full set of 5 headrests i didn't need these front seats with head rests so one has a hole in the fabric the other muddy as hell if u want i can try clean it up see if it worth keeping for u?

but i still no further forward on if these seats are for the bin as i donw a couple searches and all seem to have wiring with the seats???? bit strange these dont
