Refurbing Alloys Myself

cant say ive done it before, and dont really know how to do it, ive contacted a wheel refurbers but they seem quite steep, and im skint, a matre has give me a link for a wheel refurb kit, but im still not sure whether to attempt it myself

any of you guys got experiance with refurbing alloys and know how easy/diffiucult it is?

They're no different to repairing any other painted part of the car and so treat them as such.  Only thing that you won't get is possibly less durable finish as I guess you be painting the wheels with aerosol paints? 

I'm going to do a quick refurb on a set soon, mild kerb rashing can be wet and dried out, anything deeper and just use a metal based filler and prep for paint as you would any other painted panel.  I tempted to use a product by Rustoleum as they're aerosol based paints are epoxy based and if applied properly should be pretty tough.

Personally I wouldn't bother with that kit and also wait until the weather improved and you can paint in a warmer climate.

thanks, after theyve been treated, theyre going to be powder coated in anthrecite, got a mate who works at a powder coaters

there is a few small chunks missing and deep scratching, ill sort some pics out...
