If you had to get a mk3 gti it'd have to be the 16V if you want any sort of performance at all if you can go for the vr6!!

Depends what you want. It won't be quick, but it'll run n run...it can be modded easily and cheaply, and won't break the bank on insurance. The 16v is much better tuning potential as the 8v is only worth a filter n exhaust TBH, and the VR6 offers a lot more but running costs are high and fuel...

Colour isn't the usual, so bit less common...dragon green FTW :afro:

Do a search 1st, if your buying a 8v don't then look at making it quicker.

16v or Vr is the better choice but depends on budget and insurance.

The way fuel is going up I would go for a 8v if it is a daily driver.

Not much difference between a 8v/16v, VR is juicy.

8v is a more lazy (relaxed) drive but is much slower than the 16v, to find which is best you need to decide how you drive. if you like to use rev's then 16v if not then an 8v will do fine

and as said above don't buy an 8v and modify it as you wont get much gain without big £££
