Check pressure warning

Guys, don't know if this can be a fault/problem. I've had the little light come on saying I could have a flat. TBH I never checked the pressure after getting the wheels fitted as I asked for 33 PSi. When I checked from cold had a wee range of 28-31 Psi so I guess that could be the issue though when I came home this morning the light never came on after I reset it last night.  Anyone else have/having the issue if so how did you resolve it....if the pressures were correct all round..

I think the Golf needs about 38 psi.

I don't have the issue myself. My poverty spec car doesn't have that option!!
I had it in my mk5 and it only ever went off once. I was going up the motorway, fully laden with family and luggage, on our way to Bristol Airport (New York trip, me love Manhattan), as the boot couldn't have been evenly loaded the warning went off about 8 miles into the journey. Scared the sh!t out of me too. I pulled off at the next junction (oooer missus) and checked the tyres by the technical expertise involving a good kick of each one, and then the penny dropped about what had happened vs what the car thought had happened. I re-set and resumed journey and all was well again.

It depends on how many passengers/weight you carry, according to the sticker behind the petrol cap it should be a minimum of 38 psi, I checked mine yesterday and set them at 38psi all round.

My P**S flap tells me 33 GT TDi just this has happend a few times with the standard wheels as well. Will wait and see what Katie does next...

You have to set the tire pressure. Then press the reset button. The computer then takes measurments of what the rolling dia of the wheels are for about the next 15 miles(iirc) including cornering and also 50mph/motorway type miles. It will not trigger a fault until its reloaded all these measurments into the blocks for it to know when its got a problem. It has to learn before it can know theres a fault. So if you just potter about in town it will never get back to its full data stage again until you have traveled at around 50mph for a couple of miles.

Checked them again this morning all still at 33, so reset the gadget, went for a little trip down the M73 glad to say no problems thanks again Snoops

Now depending on which system you have Volkswagen Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), direct or indirect but they are going to be similar. Mine comes on every 3-4 weeks and its always the same tyre offside rear. I check the pressure and only that one has droped from 36 to 33psi so they are quite sensitive on pressure. I pump it up and press the Set button in the glovebox and we are away again for another 3-4 weeks. I can't see anything obvious it the tyre it may have a slow rim leak.
