butchered off?? you ever tried removing one? it is a lot easier to undo the exhaust clamps and remove it. I think it was that rusty it fell off and she made up an excuse because as you say the fumes are dangerous for your child's health.

easy way to stop this if it really was stolen, is to lower the car so you can't even get a jack underneath it

This is more common over night at lorry yards as they have bigger cats. Takes something to take one from a tesco car park during the day. Sure it didn't just come off? lol

£25 per cat + petrol angle grinder = loads of money.

If you lived in Mitcham near Nebbits scrap yard you will know what I mean

As Tazzy said, this has been around for a while. Apparently cats have a very small amount of gold inside and some other precious materials that the thieves accumulate and then sell for good money. In America this is a serious crime and over there it's easy peasy as most vehicles are SUV's and you don't need a jack to easily nick the cat.

No gold, platinum is why people want them, if golds like £7 a gram platinum's got to be more, so like £50 per cat.

I've heard diesels dont need them? Man at college said he took his off ages ago to sell it lol, still passes its mot etc.
