glove box
« on: 22 January 2011, 18:09 »
I forgot my glove box was locked today and the handle came straight off, must have been tired anyway because i barely pulled it.
Now I can't get it open without probably using force.

Anyone know an easy way to get in with minimal damage and also how easy is it to change a glove box lid/ how easy are they to get hold off?

cheers

It depends on which type of glovebox you have fitted as there are two types available - Upper with rectangular latch or lower with ovalised latch?

There are plenty on ebay http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_nkw=golf+mk3+glove+box&_sacat=0&_dmpt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&_odkw=golf+mk3+box&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313

Didn't even lock mine and it snapped off! Really weak!
Ebay or forums mate for second hand/new ones!
Got mine second hand from Cable on here for a few squid!

Regards getting into the glovebox, Put a thin screwdriver right in the middle at the top and you should be able to release the latch, If you can't understand my technique hit the tube of You!
