Update:
Amplifier has been successfully installed. Was a reasonably time consuming job. I'll collect the car in the next few days and subsequently dish the dirt as to how it all sounds. :smiley:

Well, I had to go and listen to the system with the newly installed amplifier, even in my crippled state.

The transformation is truly incredible. The dynamic range, dynamics, tonal balance, detail, etc, etc all really fantastic. So I'm delighted. Wow!

It took a fair bit of installation time. It would have been a fat bill, but as I've known them for 30 years, I got a very, very good discount.

Left the car there surrounded by a couple of Ferrari 599s, Lambos, Bentleys, Masaratis, Porches, Mercs, a Rolls Phantom etc. Think it will be safe there. They'll drop it by when I ask them to.

This expenditure will give me the greatest pleasure and is undoubtedly my top retro-fit. Truly ecstatic.

Cool, thus proving that the sound quality is fine from your set, you just needed a little more power to project the sound?

But why does the RCD 310 sound considerably better? Same power as the RNS 510. That's always been my beef. But I agree with you, that power helps in this case and does not corrupt. :grin:

No pictures yet for Snoops. It fits so well under the seat and quite a way in that it's pretty difficult to see it. It's as if it was specifically designed for the Golf.  :cool:
