my car is a 16v, originally a 1.3. when i converted it i didnt bother using the 16v header tank with the low level sensor, as the wiring for it isnt in with the engine loom, its in the lighting part of the other loom, so couldnt be bothered for what its worth, but also, i check the oil every week and have a general poke around under the bonnet, so can always keep an eye on the water level. also, i always have the oil temp up on the mfa, and keep an eye on the water temp gauge, heater on hot, which it really is, etc etc. anyway driving earlier i got a couple of flashes from the temp light, the oil was on 96, its normally 98-100 when driving enthusiastically, so was a touch low as i was driving slow, and the water was halfway, which again is a touch low,as it normally gets up to just under the 3/4 mark before fan time. i know the gauge itself is on one of the head sensors, but if it wasnt up high surely the light wouldnt come on (if theyre connected), so im guessing its separate to this? so basically, why did the light flash, what sensor does it go back to on the 16v? not forgetting i have got the plain,no sensor bottle.. i know its a long winded 1 but it saves many posts sayin 'what was ur oil temp' or 'what was the water temp guage sayin' or 'have you checked the coolant level' etc
