Quick Anni Question
« on: 22 January 2011, 12:08 »
Looking at a 1996 GTI Anniversey 8v!

I've come across one,It looks the complete car ...the alloys, red seat belts, gearnob seats etc..But doesn't seem to have red bumpstrips? Its the techno violet kinda purple?3dr?

All the others for sale seem to have it?Strange.Could this be simply a really good rep?Did some not come with it?(red pin line bump strips)

Thanks guys

It may have just heen removed by one of its previous owners. either way its easy enough to replace.

all came with the stripe but it's only "3m" tape and can come off/be removed

standard 6mm pin stripe as it's virtually the same thing

If it's an Anni, it'll be Mystic Blue...that was the only blue available.

The red stripe should only be on the front and rear bumpers.

Am not completely sure and an Anni owner could confirm this either way but does the genuine Anni not have it stated on the logbook ???

No it does not.
The production sticker will give you the trim ciode, which will confirm it's an Anni...but I can't remember the code.
If it's purple...it's not an Anni.

This is the car.. The rear has no red either..But i'm 99% its genuine just wondered why anyone would remove them?

Are the actualy complete stips differnt or just sticky strips added onto standard bumps strips?

They are stick on pin strips on standard bumpers, very common for them to fall off over time.
