Got some new rear lights,now for some advice.

So ive just bought these lights off someone on Ed38 and im very happy with them.
However i found a photoshop of the actual lights i bought,tinted.
I love the look of this and it is going on a black mk3 too.

Question is what am i better off tinting them with?I dont want to use spray as that sucks donkey dick in my opinion.I keep hearing about this Laminex stuff but have never dealt with it before.Is it something i could do myself?I dont want it to peel or look pants a few months down the line.

I think they will look nice that dark, on a black MK3.

The tint spray is fine, if you know how to use it properly.. Though for those lights i would ask LL for some of his tint. Few of us have used it and can vouch that it's good stuff!

I'll be testing out the tints on the rear lights, will make it thinner and more manageable I reckon, maybe use a different material. I make the front's thicker as its easier to apply and protects the headlights from stone chips.

When I got time I'll be testing the rear light tint, probs do my old CL lights. One red and one black for demo purposes.

I'll see how difficult it is, maybe do a send off and return type thing

The tinted ones will look good on a black car, however it may lessen the effect of the reflector which is an MOT fail.

They have been modded yes.They are inpro ones and he bought them new and cut the back out to take the red tint out.Ido believe they used to look like this.


He then plastic welded them back up and i must say the job is perfect!
Had to use all led bulbs(red amber and white) to get the colours needed and im really happy with them he's done a good job.

Id be interested in getting a light tint to them.Id be more than happy to send them to LL once he has mastered the art.

Come mot time i will take my brother a bag of haribo and he will overlook that as he is an mot tester

Yeah i reckon smoke em if you've got a black car! Unless your car is blingy blingy? then teh chrome effect would look cool?
Lamin-x is Very tough, durable and looks good but getting the stuff to go round corners perfectly is a complete ballache!
And its not over cheap either! Only good thing is that its plyable and very easy to play with!

The car will have polished rims on it as soon as i can find some impul silhouettes.I think that will be the only shiny thing on the car until the engine goes in.

I think i will see what LL says and if he can suss it i will send them off for him to do
